People Legal seeks to help people and small businesses by providing them with an exceptional, responsive and affordable employment law service. It also seeks to create a warm, relaxed and collegiate working environment for colleagues. We have four experienced Employment Law Solicitors and one Trainee Solicitor all of whom work flexibly, both in terms of location and working pattern. Chris, the Founder, set up the firm in February 2019 after working at national law firms such as Eversheds and Addleshaw Goddard. Chris works flexibly around his 7 year old son. Jessica joined the firm in an employed role in January 2021 after a 7 year career break which she took to bring up her three boys. Jessica works 3 days per week, exclusively from home. Helen and Rizwana both joined in mid/late 2021 in consultancy roles. They both generate work for People Legal on a fee share basis and, depending upon their availability, accept overflow work that comes into People Legal. People Legal has an office just off the high street in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. There is an open plan office as well as a private meeting room. When Chris is working in the UK, he tends to work there in the morning, after dropping his son off at the school around the corner. Chris will then flex his work location depending upon the schedule for the day. Lauren will attend the office usually at least once per day to collect the post and deal with other matters that require her to be in the office (e.g. filing/scanning etc). However, Lauren is free to come into the office at whatever time she chooses and is free to work from home for the majority of her day should she wish to do so. Jess works from home exclusively. Helen and Rizwana are free to dictate where and when they work. Chris also sits as an Employment Judge in the Leeds Employment Tribunal.
