Hi, I'm Abbie and I'm the Marketing Director at NEXA Properties, I joined almost two years ago after leaving a role I was really unhappy at and wanted to have more flexibility and autonomy over my working life.

1. What is the best thing about working for Nexa

This is definitely a tie between the people and the flexibility. You often hear businesses falsely claim a 'family culture', but with NEXA everyone is genuinely so lovely at every level of the business. The flexibility is also great, I feel its made a massive improvement on my work-life balance.

2. How does Nexa support a more flexible way of working

This varies for different roles, so for example the Client Directors have very flexible working as they have complete autonomy over their jobs. The central/admin side have lots of flexibility including working from home, which is made easier by having laptops etc provided.

3. How would you describe the working environment/culture in 3 words?

Progressive, welcoming, fun

4. How has working for enhanced your family/work-life balance?

Working from home has allowed me to spend so much more time with family and means I can go on dog walks on my break or just step away from the computer to have a creative break if I feel I need it.

5. What was it that appealed to you most about the organisation/industry

How progressive it was, I think a lot of businesses to get too comfortable and stagnate, but NEXA seems to truly want to keep moving forward and make a difference in the industry as well as the world around it through its charity partners.

6. How do you balance your career with your home life?

Working from home has 100% helped create more balance and being open and honest with the Directors also helps.

7. How do you manage your time? Can you share a typical working day/week, if you have one?

For me personally, no two days or weeks are the same as campaigns and goals are always changing. But I love it!
