Inspirational People Series – Gurdeep Sira, Head of Talent Acquisition – D&I at Transport for London

This month we are delighted to be featuring the award-winning HR professional Gurdeep Sira – Head of Talent Acquisition – Diversity & Inclusion at TFL and WearetheCity 2020 Rising Star Winner.

Throughout her career, Gurdeep has been a huge champion of women in the workplace and shares her experiences as both a recruiter and employee with Louise.  Within her current position with TFL Gurdeep ensures that as an organisation they accurately represent London through their recruitment process.  Having worked in both the private and public sector Gurdeep has some great insight into the different approaches the sectors have to flexible working and work/life balance.

Gurdeep shares some brilliant tips and advice on how she achieves the daily juggle and keeps the pressures of work and life under control. She also highlights how critical it is for organisations and hiring managers to recognise that a women’s work perspective is different to men.  “Culturally there’s still a lot of work to do when it comes to making women feel safe sharing the narrative around motherhood, flexible working needs and career breaks taken”.
