5 important questions to ask at interview

Hands up if you’ve ever had an interview that seems to be going well – you’ve confidently answered all the questions, and then you experience brain freeze when asked, ‘Do you have any questions for me?’

Having a list of questions to ask an interviewer makes you look interested, enthusiastic, and engaged – all qualities that the employer will be looking for. It also gives you one final chance to further highlight your relevant attributes and experience.

💡 Top tip – try to come up with at least four or five questions so that if one or two of them are answered during the interview, you have backup questions…..

Here are five good questions to ask at an interview;

1. Are there opportunities for training and progression?

It shows that you’re serious about your career and committed to a future with the organisation.

2. How would you describe the working culture of the organisation?

From the answer, you will quickly see if the organisation prioritises employee happiness and what the work-life balance is like.

3. What do you enjoy about working for the business / your job?

A great way to get a feel of the company culture and working environment.

4. How could I impress you in the first three months?

A great one for showing potential employers that you are serious about the opportunity and keen to make a positive contribution from day 1.

5. How many other flexible working employees do you have?

From the answer, you will know-how on board the organisation is with flexible working or whether you are the first!

Save these tips for later so you can refer back to before an interview and help remove some of those nerves!
