Talking with Dan Reed aka Career Dad on how to deal with the guilt of being a working parent
We are very excited to be joined by the brilliant Dan Reed aka Career Dad. Dan started Career Dad a year ago as a result of his personal experiences of dealing with the guilt that came with wanting to pursue his career but not at the expense of his family time. A scenario that feels familiar to so many!
Through Career Dad, Dan quickly identified that there were a lot of Dads that felt the same. This resulted in successful Facebook and LinkedIn Groups through which the Career Dad is supporting both the working Dad community and advising the business world as to how they can support flexible working and start measuring outputs in other ways than the outdated and basic ‘man hours’.
We love Dan’s ‘Guilt Wheel’ analogy and know so many working parents that struggle with the guilt – quite often from the same triggers!
Thank you so much for being part of the series Dan and for sharing such honest and valuable advice. We have been listening to the Career Dads podcast and think its brilliant – full of more great tips and advice. Be sure to check out The Career Dad podcasts and all the latest episodes out over at @careerdaduk – say hi from us!
