“Newtrino is looking for a business development consultant, working in the area of textiles and clothing, and has a strong sales background. The role offers a lot of flexibility and compensation is based on success.”
Newtrino is a company that manufactures clothing for the UK and European markets. It is a small company which makes decision making a very quick and flexible. There are no fixed rules and regulations, especially about working hours. As long as things get done in a timely manner, everyone is happy!
1. What were, or are, the biggest challenges you faced going back into the work place having had children?
Time! After having my baby, following a strict 9-5 job was an impossibility. I didn't have anyone to take care of my son while I go to work, and in a way I was glad, because I didn't want to leave him with anyone at such a young age.
2. How did your career change after having children?
It just moved from a regular office job in a large company to a similar job in Newtrino where I could do from home while being with my son. The job itself remained almost the same.
3. How do you balance your career with your family?
I work mainly from home, so I can do both together.
4. How has working for Newtrino enhanced your family/ work life balance?
It would have been impossible to continue in my previous job as the hours and the commute were just not possible. Newtrino allowed me to continue working. otherwise, my career would just have ended at least for a few years, and I don't know if I could have got back into the job market again.
5. If you could give your ‘pre-children’ self, one piece of advice about being a working mother, what would it be?
It's not easy to keep a career going after kids, but it's easy to give up. Don't!
6. What is it about this industry that appeals to you?
Every day is a different day in fashion, new styles, new issues, bringing new challenges.
