We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Web Developer. 

You will be responsible for building and maintaining functionality on the Space NK website. Other tasks will include leading and mentoring a squad of developers, refining website specifications, and resolving technical issues. Experience working on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or an equivalent eCommerce platform is essential whilst the ideal candidate will have strong JavaScript skills, paired with a very good understanding of the wider development stack, in particular MVC.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working predominantly in JavaScript but also utilizingSalesforce Commerce Clouds built in scripts to build components for the website.
• Identify user and system requirements for new website features.
• Create engaging and highly functional features.
• Develop, prototype and optimise existing and new features.
• Resolve cross-browser issues and bugs.
• Provide scoping and estimations for development tasks ahead of sprint planning.
• Propose UX/UI improvements with best practice in mind.
• Review other team members code in PR’s.
• Write unit tests and debug code.
• Oversee and mentor more junior web developers and evaluate their performance.
• Liaise with designers to decide on UI/UX elements.
• Ensure documentation is up to date.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in building components across different devices and browsers.
• Very strong programming skills with a logical and creative approach to problem solving.
• Excellent experience writing Vanilla JavaScript.
• Understands and has built modern MVC frameworks.
• Strong knowledge on creating webpack’s and package dependencies.
• Passionate about writing clean semantic code.
• Strong knowledge of Git.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of UI/UX.
• Knowledge of best practices, usability and awareness of web standards.
• Previous experience working with an Ecommerce Content Management System.
• Work experience as a Mid or Senior Web Developer.
• Expertise in at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript.
• Complete knowledge of HTML/SCSS.
• Knowledge of node frameworks such as express.js
• Understanding of security practices.
• Familiarity with network diagnostics tools.
• Previous experience working in Agile, within a scrum team.
• Previous experience using Jira or equivalent tool.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Any prior knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud would be very advantageous.
• Team management skills.
