Working hours: 37.5 hours with core hours 10am-4pm but will need to be flexible around meetings and events which can occur between 8.30am and 6pm Mon – Friday
Start date: October 2021 (TBD depending on notice period)

Since 2016, Sanctus has been partnering with businesses to provide high quality, 1:1 personal coaching to their employees.Sanctus started as a community which rallied around a simple mission: normalise the conversation around mental health in the workplace and make proactive support more readily available at work.
Over the last five years we’ve built up a community we’re proud of and partnered with hundreds of progressive organisations. Together, we’ve played an important role in shifting outdated narratives around mental health in the workplace, and empowered tens of thousands of people to work on their mental health & wellbeing with a Sanctus Coach.
Our customers are our partners and we’re proud to work with start-ups like The Body Coach, Goodlord & Carwow , agencies like Dentsu, Omnicom & Vayner Media and Global Brands like Red Bull, JustEatTakeAway and the Boston Consulting Group.

About the role
We’re looking for a forward-thinking People Team Manager who will be a key player in creating our unique culture and team experience and building Sanctus as we enter the next stage of our growth. The People Team Manager will report into the People Director and be responsible for all aspects of the day to day people operations within Sanctus. We’re a rapidly growing organisation, but we want to grow in the right way which reflects our values and what we stand for – not growth at any cost to our people.
This is a generalist role in a team of two covering all business areas, so you’ll need to be familiar with all aspects of people management (culture, engagement, wellbeing, operations, compensation and benefits, recruitment etc) and willing to roll up your sleeves and help with everything from the tactical to the strategic. You’ll build out the People team as we grow. Able to demonstrate that you’re very comfortable with operating in a fast moving start up to scale up environment, and managing through change and uncertainty, particularly in the post-covid world. We work virtually so relevant expertise in successfully implementing hybrid working is important.
Role Responsibilities
- Work closely with the People Director to develop & implement our People Strategy ensuring that the experience of both candidates and employees is the best it can be
- Attraction and recruitment: Develop our internal employee value proposition and manage all direct and agency recruitment, place and update adverts on job boards / social media for direct recruitment, manage external recruitment agencies, schedule interviews, liaise with and provide feedback to both candidates and hiring managers, produce offer letters & contracts, and manage our offshore remote employee network (currently outsourced to Remote.com)
- Onboarding & offboarding management
- Operations: manage all People policies and processes, succession planning, headcount management and benefits
- Compensation and benefits: manage pay & bonus review cycle and benchmarking, manage outsourced payroll
- Analytics: Maintain current data and ensure that all employee & contractor files are up to date and current on our HR information system and survey software, produce and analyse metrics and reports for the People Director & business functions.
- Learning & Development: developing and implementing our new L&D strategy, systems and policies. Comfortable with developing and delivering in person and remote training.
- Engagement: familiar with survey software and able to manage & optimise it, developing and reporting on all People surveys and reporting, driving employee engagement goals
- Able to develop, support, continuously improve and monitor our DEI programme
- Culture: responsible for contributing to our social & culture programme
- Community: responsible for developing relationships with third parties and internal support for our community and charity partners
- Social Impact: supporting the People Director to achieve our goal to become a B Corp by 2022
- Administering our Options programme (with support from the Legal Department)
Skills required for the role
- HR generalist able to business partner effectively with all areas of the business
- Belief in our mission and values and a desire to work in a purpose-led company and role, whilst recognising the need to achieve commercial goals
- Highly organised and a proficient multi-tasker with an eye for detail
- Comfortable navigating multiple tech platforms and systems (Zoom, Teams, Google Suite, HRIS, survey software)
- Able to manage and organise in-person and virtual events
- Self starter who is keen to own and lead their role with minimal supervision, good judgment and consistent follow-through
- Passion to own and develop this role: Understands it’s a brand new role which will adapt as we grow, gets excited about the role potential and looking for something to put their stamp on
- Strong interpersonal skills, conducive to team development
- Ability to work effectively and advocate for mental health support in the workplace
- Aware of the need for confidentiality and sensitivity
- Open, approachable, and a genuine believer in people
- An excellent communicator, both written and orally
- Able to build professional relationships with your colleagues, and establish long-lasting team relationships
