This role is part of an exciting and growing area of the charity and there could be opportunities to take on additional projects if you have the ambition to grow the role. This is a part time, temp to perm role, mainly based from home but with occasional work and meetings in West Kent (Otford, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells).
This role offers the ability to get involved and hands on with a wide range of projects and events. The right candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in fundraising administration; event management, marketing and promotion; administration and donor care.
This is a contract role for someone looking to work around 3-4 hours per week at a rate of £15 per hour.

Key responsibilities:
Mission:
To develop, execute and monitor Baby Umbrella processes for online marketing and fundraising activities, supporting our charity’s plan to improve funding stability and enable growth.
Outcome 1: planning and marketing regular small fundraising initiatives (online or offline)
You’ll develop and maintain a master list of proposed fundraising events, working with the wider Baby Umbrella team to build business cases and support the team to determine priorities based on the fundraising and marketing schedule, and potential income generated. You’ll also maintain a calendar for events for the next 3-6 months, support the organisation of fundraising initiatives, and be responsible for evaluating the success of each event based on set criteria.
Outcome 2: developing and scheduling a series of regular fundraising social media posts and monthly newsletter
You’ll be responsible for maintaining a social media posting calendar and executing regular posts on fundraising topics, in line with our Core Values, Purpose and Brand Promises. You will take full responsibility for writing, seeking management sign-off, sending and evaluating the performance of our monthly newsletter, ensuring the content is interesting and suitable for our audience.
Outcome 3: supporting the team to develop and deliver a series of regular targeted email content for subscribers
You will collate materials for and draft targeted client email content with the support of the rest of the team.
Outcome 4: planning and executing one online crowdsourcing campaign per year
You’ll lead the planning, execution and evaluation of one online crowdsourcing campaign per year, with the support of the team.
Outcome 5: exploring online donor acquisition strategies
You’ll develop, execute and evaluate a pilot for online donor acquisition, outside of our existing social media following (using social media ads).
Outcome 6: supporting the management team to evaluate and plan online fundraising activities to meet annual budget
You’ll be continually evaluating activities in order to make the best use of our resources and plan our annual online fundraising activities and budgets.

Person Specification
- Passionate about fundraising, events and project management
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proven experience of using all social media platforms
- Independent self-starter who can work well as a team, but can use their own initiative to get the job done
- Good time management skills, ability to prioritise own workload
- Excellent knowledge of Google Docs, Gmail, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to communicate with the public by phone and written communications
- A team player who effectively interacts with peers and helps motivate other members of the team
- Reliable, conscientious and dedicated
- Desirable : Experience developing imagery using technologies such as Photoshop, Canva etc.
- Desirable: Website design or editing experience
- Desirable: Knowledge or experience of breastfeeding and postnatal support
- Desirable: Experience of working within a small charity
