We have an exciting new role for a Junior Customer Insights Analyst reporting to the Customer Insights Manager

We are looking for an applicant who is passionate about Retail to join our CRM team. With an industry leading loyalty card, over 70 stores across the UK and rapidly expanding direct business, we have a wealth of customer data that we need your help to analyse and generate actionable insight.

You will be highly numerate with the ability to use data mining and analytics tools and an excel expert. Ideally, you’ll also have an appreciation of SQL, R, and BI tools and a basic understanding of web analytics. We use Bluevenn but we don’t mind if you haven’t used this before.

Reporting to the Customer Insights Manager, you will work very closely with the CRM and IT teams as well as having exposure to the wider business including Trading, Marketing, Buying and Merchandising teams and external suppliers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand our data landscape, including Navision, our loyalty platform, website and the Data Warehouse (SQL).

• Deliver timely weekly and monthly customer reports to a wide range of stakeholders across the business

• Assist the Senior Customer Insight Analyst in reporting on campaign results and insights; making recommendations to the CRM team

• Partner with stakeholders to extract relevant and actionable insights

• Analyse and model data to identify opportunities for growth and retention

• Monitor customer data quality and ensure any issues are appropriately resolved or escalated

Qualifications/Knowledge Required

• Education to degree level in Maths, Stats or other Quantitative discipline

• Confident handling large data sets

• Strong IT and analytical software skills, with excellent Excel

• Understanding of statistical concepts; trend analysis, regression analysis, etc.

• Understanding of the importance of data visualisation

• A general ability to pick up working with technical environments is essential

• Some understanding of retail industry KPIs

• Experience of BlueVenn (previously smartFOCUS), BI, web analytics tools, R or SQL a plus

Personal Attributes

• You will have good problem-solving abilities.

• You must be able to make sense of a complex IT environment, interpret data and communicate findings concisely to a variety of audiences.

• The ability to focus on the detail, but also grasp the bigger picture is essential.

• Ability and drive to learn new skills quickly.

• You should have the confidence to push your own ideas and challenge current ways of working.
