Head of Residential, Savills

Current Team Information

The Head of Department roles comprises of two specific area: client and business development and full department management.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

  •   Work closely with the Regional Head in assisting delivery of the national strategy
  •   Identify potential new business area in conjunction with Regional Heads
  •   Unify local business line and build Savills reputation Monitor and grow local profile including

    developing marketing and PR opportunities

  •   Foster local client relationships
  •   Produce an annual business plan for your department
  •   Monitor and assess local competitor activity and threats
  •   Discuss and liaise with Regional Heads on performance, business opportunities and other relevant

    employee matters where appropriate

  •   Provide guidance to members of the team
  •   Ensure a clear daily structure for your team
  •   Full use of REAPIT including maintaining records with 100% accuracy
  •   Partake in Power 90’s ensuring that all relevant team members participate effectively
  •   Monitor profile & performance of your department
  •   Assist Regional Heads on bonus recommendations in respect of cross-selling and wider contributions

    to the Savills business

  •   Provide general management of the departmental administration
  •   Attend full office cross discipline meetings when required
  •   Ensure, in conjunction with the Head of Office, that the department is compliant with Health and Safety

    and all legal, internal and external requirements e.g. ISO, Health and Safety, FSA, compliance, Estate Agency Act, GDPR, Bribery Act

    People Leadership:

  •   To set clear objectives in line with company/Divisional/team strategy and to measure performance against these
  •   To conduct regular 121’s, hold team meetings and complete thorough probationary, interim and annual appraisals as per company guidelines
  •   To support team members in career development via training (to ensure high skill levels both technically & behaviourally), coaching, mentoring and the promotion and succession/talent processes
  •   To adhere to all company processes with regards to people management and to role model professional behaviours at all times
  •   To ensure recruitment is completed professionally and in line with team/divisional/company goals on Diversiry and Inclusion, thinking strategically re future needs.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  •   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •   Strong people management skills – can motivate, train, coach team members
  •   Organised with a flexible approach to work
  •   Strong ability to influence and quickly build rapport as well as longstanding relationships
  •   Strong sales focus and track record of dealing in detail with prospective purchasers and pushing

    sales through

  •   Entrepreneurial – ability to spot opportunities and solve problems

  •   Experience and [proven track record in Estate Agency
  •   Knowledge of the local area is advantageous
  •   Confident with Microsoft Office and databases
  •   Confident in dealing with figures
  •   Ensures compliance of legal, internal and external requirements i.e. Health and Safety, FSA, compliance, Estate Agency Act, GDPR, Bribery Act
  •   Driving licence is essential
