How you’ll make an impact
Working alongside the Sales Director, UK & EMEA, this role is responsible for the direct channel sales targets including leading the Small Business Sales Team in the UK. The Head of Direct Sales is responsible for leading an SBS Team Manager and team of SBS Leads, helping them to achieve their sales targets through strong leadership and coaching capabilities, ensuring small business trialists receive the support and guidance they need to confidently sign up.
Working closely with regional Marketing and supporting regional campaigns you will be responsible for the digital element of the channel.  This will include experimentation, key initiatives and new ways of thinking to increase conversion within this channel.
The role draws on experience and proven, dynamic sales leadership. It carries responsibility for a hugely important proportion of Xero UK’s business, and requires constant improvement and delivery on strategic and tactical priorities.

What you’ll do

    • Leadership of the SBS function and line management of SBS Leads
    • Responsibility for collaborating and driving the in region SBS strategy
    • Overall ownership in developing the development programme of all SBSs, team managers and Leads
    • Working closely with Marketing on regional campaigns to achieve the online sales target
    • Setting targets and objectives to drive acceptable business outcomes
    • In month and future forecasting plus managing the direct P&L
    • Support the Sales Director and GM Global Small Business Sales to execute on the local and global sales plan and key initiatives.
    • Work collaboratively with other key functions such as sales enablement, strategy, marketing and people experience.
    • Ability to operate at XLT-Level and influence both internally and externally.
    • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, both written and face to face.

    • A background in running successful inside sales teams
    • Proven sales performance and drive for results
    • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to inject operational rigour into the sales organisation
    • Ability and desire to develop exceptional sales people

What you’ll bring with you – experience

    • Extensive and proven sales leadership experience including managing other managers.
    • Experience of operating at XLT-Level.
    • Experience in all aspects of people management within your team including the ongoing performance management, professional skills development, coaching and career progression of the team
    • Experience in managing and developing a team of excellent sales people.
