European PR and Content Manager, Savills
Role Overview
Candidates must possess strong writing skills and an exceptional eye for detail. The ability to work under pressure and to prioritise effectively is important. The successful candidate must have a strong background in PR or journalism – preferably in real estate but not essential – and will need to show initiative, be self-motivated, efficient, proactive and reliable. They will work closely with the PR Director coordinating European content, as part of a team in the UK and continental Europe, and also take direction from the Head of PR. This is an exciting role with a huge opportunity for growth.
Team Overview
Savills’ in-house press team is committed to supporting the business and also providing clients with advice to promote projects or protect them from press exposure. The team is operational 24/7, 365 days of the year and manages internal and external communications. We aim to integrate press awareness into Savills culture from the earliest possible stage in order to effectively work with the media whilst safeguarding clients and the business.
Key Responsibilities
Communication and growth of Savills media profile
• Researching, writing and distributing press releases
• Liaising with Savills agents to identify stories, news and trends
• Identifying trends and copy writing blog posts
• Distribution and management of European research stories
• Preparation of press comments for features and reactive pieces
• Ensuring consistency of content produced by European in-country PR teams
• Working with the social media team to promote European content
• Develop episodes for Savills Podcast
Media Relations
• Establish and maintain relationships with the news, business and property editors and correspondents
• Promotion of all aspects of the Savills business through traditional and new-age media
• Management of a reactive and proactive press office for the areas of business specified
• Production and maintenance of bespoke distribution lists for projects which need specific PR support – seeking out new opportunities to promote Savills capabilities
• Organisation and attendance of industry and journalist briefings, events and conferences
• Coaching fee earners for media interviews
Media Monitoring
• Daily monitoring of all media cuttings online
• Distribution of key coverage to members of the relevant teams and highlighting best practice
coverage to senior staff and peers
• Monthly reporting on press cutting figures
• Monitoring relevant journalists and influencers on social media
General
• Close affiliation with in-house research team to shape angles in reports and maximise exposure of leading real estate data-led stories
• Harness strategic industry memberships with aligned ‘talking points’
• Manage and maintain relationships with the UK national press office and in-country European PR teams to encourage collaboration on angles
• Liaison with Internal Comms and Savills website teams to ensure all news, stories and features are distributed via the internal and external Savills channels
• Close liaison with the social media team to amplify coverage and escalate any crisis PR issues
• Liaison and assistance with marketing team, for sponsorship, events and publications
• Maintenance of filing systems
• Report to EMEA PR director with additional reports to Head of PR and Communications on a monthly basis on activity across the region
• Occasional preparation and presentation of PR strategies for specific developments / clients
• Occasional travel to Savills European network of offices
