About the Team and this Role 

The Compliance Negotiator role is responsible for contract negotiations and managing the contract lifecycle process. The successful  candidate will engage with both internal and external stakeholders. 

Main responsibilities 

  • Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide variety of inbound contracts, including client agreements, supplier agreements, consulting services agreements and work orders and related purchase requisitions and NDA’s. Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide variety of outbound contracts, including NDAs, professional services  agreements and Statements of Work, license agreements, RFP responses, alliance agreements, and miscellaneous  agreements. 
  • Work with internal business customers, Partners, and various other functions within Support Services to manage risk and  ensure business needs are reflected accurately in agreements 
  • Team Partners and the Risk & Compliance Director (where necessary with external lawyers) and other identified  stakeholders to obtain any required approvals from internal stakeholders and optimize support to the business Contribute to standard form agreements and legal processes  
  • Reviewing contracts that require individual assessment to identify clauses that require amendment. Being decisive in knowing when to pull out contracts and where amendment might be difficult. Determining a strategy for transition and negotiating/executing new agreements with clients.
  • Ensuring the optimum reduction of risk in line with the credit and legal policies/standards. 
  • Liaising with businesses, Risk & Compliance Director and external counsel. 

Key Attributes and Qualifications 

  • Educated to Undergraduate degree level (Law, Business related studies) 
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations  
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills 
  • Self-starter and ability to work with limited direction 
  • Outgoing and able to build relationships and develop effective internal and external partnerships – it is key that the  incumbent is able to work with clients and their legal advisors 
  • Responsive and service-oriented attitude 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline -driven  environment 
  • Intellectual agility and ability to apply lessons learned from each negotiation 
  • Excellent business judgment

Working hours 

The Firm’s core hours are from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and you may choose to start and end your day around these hours, provided  you still do your 7.25 hours per day (e.g. 8.00 am – 4.30pm, 10.00 am – 6.30 pm). There is no requirement for this to be the same  each day, but you are required to keep your manager informed. This position also involves out of hours working on an ‘as  necessary’ basis. We are open to considering flexible working arrangements for everyone; this can be discussed during the  application process or upon commencement.
