Client Finance Manager, Private: Practice

About the role

We’re on the hunt for an ambitious and bright finance professional who can build relationships and make businesses tick.

In this role you’ll be one of the key faces of Practice, providing front-line support to some of the most exciting creative businesses in the UK today, while also driving the development of our own business.

We’re a small team right now and this role is central to our plans for growth, so for the right person we can be flexible on hours and working arrangements.

You’ll be responsible for…

·        Working directly with founders, acting as a first point of contact.

·        Putting in place financial processes and systems within start-up and scale-up businesses.

·        Supporting clients with ‘Finance 360’ meetings in which we analyse and monitor the performance of the business at the end of each quarter.

·        Reporting to client investors and delivering month-end close for our larger clients, making sure that we produce the very highest standard of analysis.

·        Managing the year-end accounts production, running review meetings with founders as part of the sign-off process.

·        Supporting clients across a range of exciting commercial projects.

·        Thinking creatively and advising our clients on any problems they might hit.

·        Provide guidance and support to the bookkeeping team within Practice.

·        Horizon scanning – stay ahead of changes to tax legislation and advise pro-actively as to the impact on our client portfolio.

·        Work with the Director to set the commercial strategy for Practice.

You should apply if…

·        You have a genuine interest in the creative industries.

·        You have a track record of building relationships and solving problems.

·        You are a fully qualified accountant with a recognised professional body.

·        You have some experience of Xero and love working with new technologies.

·        You have a great eye for detail, but can always see the big picture.

·        You can communicate complex financial concepts to people from a non-finance background with empathy and clarity.

Interview process

Our hiring process will consist of 2 rounds – a short 30-minute Zoom conversation in which we’ll get to know a little more about you and a longer interview in which we’ll set a short exercise.

If possible, we’d like to conduct the 2nd round interviews in person – but we will of course make adjustments where this is not possible or practical.
