About the Company
Urang is a fast-growing property management firm based in Fulham with an extensive and ever-increasing portfolio of properties, which exceeded 7500 units in 2022. We are looking to expand our team and services with the addition of Building Surveyor. This is a mid-level position, and the right applicant will be given relevant training and support to progress within the industry.
Salary range:  £60,000 per annum
Working hours:Â 40 hours per week
9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday

The purpose of the role
The remit of the Major Work team has grown and to meet increasing demands from our client for the surveying services, this is an opportunity for the right person to flourish and establish themselves as a valued staff member within a dynamic property management company. Due to exponential growth, we need a strong addition with all-round experience to manage several surveying services, from inspections and reports through to liaising with clients on further technical queries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Specialised building surveying works including:
- Damp/water ingress survey and report (detecting cause and recommending remedies)
- Structural / subsidence surveys; validation and defect analysis
- Rebuild cost assessments for blocks
- Insurance-related surveys, licence to alter reports
- Condition reports, Planned Maintenance Programs (10-y capex plans)
- Specification of works, and occasional project management
- Deliver reports within quoted fee range and specified time scales
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Work collaboratively with the team across a range of clients
- Providing technical & project management support to the property management and project management teams.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Excellent presenting, communication and report-writing skills
- You will hold a relevant qualification in Surveying and membership of a relevant industry regulatory body
- Attention to detail across correspondence, reports, and within technical survey work
- Well-organised, efficient
- Take ownership of work, accountability is crucial.
- Able to handle multiple large- and small-scale projects at once
- Comfortable with building strong client relationships, dealing with all kinds of people
- Time management, able to keep to deadlines
- Focus on quality, customer service and delivery
- Process Management
- Ability to take initiative
- Experience working unsupervised, from client brief through survey to issuing bespoke reports
- Have experience on a wide variety of surveys including block valuations
- Successful track record and up-to-date knowledge of the Building Surveying industry
- Microsoft Office and various other online and desktop software
- A valid UK driving licence is desirable, access to a vehicle is also a plus
- Proven to collaborate and work effectively within a team
